Bali travel guide

Everything you need to know before you go — entry rules and tourist levy, getting around, weather, where to stay, money and temple etiquette.

Bali's regions

South Bali

Beaches, sunsets and the island's best-known resort areas — from surf-town Canggu and stylish Seminyak to the cliff-top temples of Uluwatu and the calm lagoons of Nusa Dua and Sanur.

Central & North Bali

The cultural heart and cool highlands: Ubud's rice terraces and art villages, the Mount Batur volcano, and the lakes, temples and waterfalls around Bedugul and Munduk.

East Bali

Traditional villages, royal water palaces and the famous Gates of Heaven at Lempuyang, with black-sand bays and easy snorkelling in Amed.

Nusa Islands

Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan — dramatic cliffs, manta rays and crystal-clear water, 40 minutes by fast boat from Sanur.
